Open Question: Narration Question - Accents?

I'm writing a narrative from the point of view of an Irish girl, and would like to show that without having to tell everyone "I grew up in Ireland" etc. Is it alright to convey their accent as they narrate? I.E. ... the high street of my home town, Omagh, was shook by a car bomb. My Mam and I were in the bookstore ....
